Registration information

We’re excited for the 2025 season and expect spots to fill quickly, so don’t wait to register! 

Things to know BEFORE you register:

• Submitting the registration form does not guarantee league participation — it means that you will be entered into the annual league draft if you registered before the season’s capacity limit has been met. Anyone who submits the registration form after the season’s capacity limit has been met will be waitlisted and contacted if any spots open up.

• League dues: The cost to play is $190.00. You will be invoiced after your registration has been confirmed (i.e. you registered in time and within the season’s capacity limit). Your dues include 11 guaranteed games (and the opportunity for additional games through playoffs), and pay for gym time, referees, a jersey, liability insurance, processing fees, and socials during the season. 

• Location: UMass Boston’s Clark Athletic Center (100 William T Morrissey Blvd, Boston), which is accessible via the MBTA/Commuter Rail. Free parking is available in the Quad Lot near the gym.

• Level of play: The WBGBL offers one level of play for new and returning players. The league consists of many experienced and intermediate players who have a firm grasp on the fundamentals of basketball and are able to compete at varying levels of skill beyond novice, ranging from former collegiate or high school athletes to the occasional pick up player. 

• New Registration Runs (for new players): If you are new to the league and your registration is confirmed, you will be asked to attend New Registration Runs – an event to meet the league’s leadership team, captains, and each other, as well as get some runs in before the season starts. This event will take place on Sunday, December 1 from 11:00AM-12:00PM at UMass Boston’s Clark Athletic Center.

• Attendance: Please only register if you are committed to attending the majority of games as team’s depend on players showing up each week to have enough players to play. If you can’t make a game, you are expected to communicate this to your captain ahead of time.

• Open Gyms: We’re hosting three open gyms at UMass Boston’s Clark Athletic Center in December to shake off the rust (all are welcome; you don’t have to be in the league to participate):

• Sunday, December 1 from 12:00PM-1:00PM (after New Registration Runs)

• Sunday, December 8 from 11:00AM-1:00PM

• Sunday, December 15 from 11:00AM-1:00PM

• 2025 Schedule: We play on Sunday late mornings/early afternoons. We have two doubleheaders on 2/9 and 3/2. See below for the draft schedule.
